1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of services provided by Bluelight Consultancy Ltd ("Bluelight," "we," "our," or "us"). By accessing our website, booking a Discovery Call, purchasing our services, or using our materials, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
2. Services
2.1 Bluelight Consultancy Ltd provides coaching, training, and support services for police recruitment and promotion processes.
2.2 Our services include but are not limited to: Academy Programmes, one-to-one coaching, group webinars, online resources, and assessment preparation materials.
2.3 It is the responsibility of the participant to ensure they understand and confirm which specific coaching programme they have enrolled in. Bluelight Academy offers distinct programmes tailored to different stages of the police recruitment process. Please verify that you have selected the appropriate programme relevant to your current stage. By participating in coaching calls, webinars or group sessions you acknowledge that sessions may be recorded and made available to other authorised programme participants.
2.4 While we are committed to providing high-quality services, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes with law enforcement agencies, as final decisions rest with the respective police forces.
3. Refund and Cancellation Policy
3.1 Full Academy — Success Guarantee (Money-Back Guarantee)
Our Full Academy programmes are backed by a Success Guarantee, subject to the conditions set out below. This guarantee is separate from and does not replace your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
3.1.1 The Success Guarantee applies only to complete Academy memberships and not to individual coaching sessions, standalone services, or the National Sift programme.
3.1.2 To qualify, clients must have completed our recommended preparation process, attended live webinars regularly, completed the online course materials, actively participated in coaching sessions, and implemented the feedback provided by coaches.
3.1.3 If a client fails their assessment, final interview, or promotion board after working with us on their first attempt, we will support them for their second attempt at no additional cost.
3.1.4 If a client fails their second attempt while following our guidance, they are entitled to a full refund of their Academy membership fee. For clients pursuing Chief Inspector rank or above, a 50% refund applies after a second failed attempt, with the option to continue at no additional cost.
3.1.5 To claim a refund under the Success Guarantee, clients must forward their official fail notification email to us within 24 hours of receiving it.
3.2 Early Withdrawal — Partial Refund Policy
If a client requests a refund before exhausting their coaching sessions and before any assessment attempt (or after a first failed attempt but before a second attempt), the following applies:
3.2.1 Clients who request a refund under these circumstances are not entitled to a full refund and will not be eligible to claim the Success Guarantee in the future.
3.2.2 Coaching sessions: Any unused one-to-one coaching sessions will be refunded at our standard rate of £157 per session. For example, if three sessions remain unused, the refund amount for those sessions would be £471 (3 × £157).
3.2.3 Online materials and webinars: There is no refund for online course materials or webinars to which you have already been granted access. Once digital content has been made available to you, it is treated as consumed and is non-refundable, as we are unable to verify whether the content has been downloaded or retained. You will, however, retain access to all materials you have already accessed following any partial refund.
3.2.4 Accepting a partial refund means: (a) you retain access to all materials and webinars already accessed; (b) you forfeit your Success Guarantee for any remaining services; and (c) if you wish to purchase additional coaching hours in the future, our then-current rate will apply (currently £247 per hour). Clients should be aware that retaining their current package and banking unused sessions for future use may represent better value than taking a partial refund and repurchasing at a higher rate.
3.3 Statutory Cooling-Off Period
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your purchase within 14 days of the date of purchase without giving any reason.
3.3.1 Where services have not yet commenced: If you cancel within 14 days and coaching sessions have not yet begun and no digital content has been accessed, you are entitled to a full refund.
3.3.2 Where services have commenced at your request: If you request that services begin within the 14-day period (by attending a coaching session, accessing online materials, or joining a webinar), you acknowledge that your right to a full refund is reduced proportionately. Any refund will be calculated based on unused coaching sessions only, at our standard rate of £157 per unused session. No refund will apply to any digital content or webinars already accessed (see 3.2.3 above).
3.3.3 Digital content waiver: By purchasing and accessing our online course materials or webinars, you acknowledge and agree that you are expressly requesting immediate access to digital content, and that you understand this means your 14-day cancellation right does not apply to those elements of your purchase.
3.4 Instalment Payment Plans
3.4.1 Instalment payment plans are not subscription services. When you choose to pay by instalments, you are committing to the full programme cost, with payments divided across an agreed schedule.
3.4.2 Instalments represent scheduled payments toward the full purchase price. You cannot cancel future instalments simply because you choose to stop using the service. The instalment plan constitutes a binding payment commitment for the entire programme cost.
3.4.3 The partial refund provisions in Section 3.2 apply equally to clients on instalment plans. Any refundable amount will be calculated against the total programme cost, not the amount paid to date.
3.4.4 The Success Guarantee in Section 3.1 applies to instalment clients in the same way as to clients who pay in full.
3.5 Refund Process
To request a refund under any of the above provisions, please contact us in writing at: [email protected]. Please include your name, the programme purchased, and the reason for your request. We will acknowledge your request within 5 working days and aim to process any approved refund within 14 days.
4. Payments and Fees
4.1 All fees are payable in advance unless otherwise agreed in writing.
4.2 Payment plans, where offered, are subject to separate terms that will be specified at the time of purchase.
4.3 Prices are subject to change, but changes will not affect orders already confirmed.
5. Cancellation and Rescheduling
5.1 Cancellation of one-to-one coaching sessions requires 24 hours' notice. Sessions cancelled with less notice may be charged in full.
5.2 Bluelight reserves the right to reschedule group webinars if necessary, providing reasonable notice to participants.
5.3 Cancellation of the payment plan is not allowed if the coaching sessions and resources have already been accessed.
5.4 Instalment payment plans are not subscriptions. When you choose to pay by instalments, you are purchasing the complete coaching programme and agreeing to pay the total cost in instalments over the agreed period.
Instalments represent scheduled payments toward the full purchase price, not monthly subscription fees. You cannot cancel future instalments simply because you choose to discontinue using the service. The instalment plan constitutes a binding payment commitment for the entire programme cost.
Our money-back guarantee applies only to assessment outcomes as outlined in our Success Guarantee policy and does not cover voluntary withdrawal from the recruitment process or discontinuation of services.
